Reconciliation Through Education

The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe are proud to present our Signature Program –“Education, one of the many paths of Reconciliation”- Understanding our past to better our future.

This program has been carefully designed with appropriate consultation from our partners to provide a variety of educational opportunities to both our members, as well as our community. Education is just one of the many paths towards reconciliation and we believe whole heartedly in the Dr. Seuss quote “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go.”

For us this means the more places we will go, together. Bridging the gaps, changing conversations, and opening doors to new perspectives is our hope and one in which will only benefit our future generations.

This program consists of workshops, tours and stories of important lands, stories from our Elders and much more. There is something for everyone. The program will encompass many facets of our communities history and culture. Reconciliation is just a word if there is no action. Developing a program such as this with many partners, our hope is to be the start of something greater.
