Professional Possibilities: Bridging Education and Enterprise

The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with School District 33, proudly presents the “Professional Possibilities” program. This innovative initiative connects the classroom with the commercial world by partnering with local entrepreneurs and businesses. Through this partnership, students gain unprecedented access to industry experts who bring a wealth of knowledge and practical job readiness skills directly to their learning environment. “Professional Possibilities” is dedicated to empowering students by exposing them to real-world insights and opportunities, preparing them for future career paths right from the classroom.

Professional Possibilities Career Days

The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce is partnering with SD33 on one of a few career days happening in the 2024/2025 school year.  The first one is happening on October 30th, 2024.  Our goal is to support “Professional Possibilities”, providing opportunities for students to explore and learn about different jobs/careers that are options as they consider their futures.

There are two participating schools with a few different themes.

Chilliwack Connect: Student Innovation Challenge

he University of the Fraser Valley is looking to recruit community individuals, businesses, and organizations to enter our classrooms as guest speakers, industry experts, business mentors and challengers of work-specific problems. These engagements provide UFV students with practical experience, industry insight, a community network, and most of all confidence in pursuing their future careers.

Your engagement with UFV students could be limited to an hour as a guest speaker, or more involved by pitching a challenge your organization is experiencing to a class of students who act as your consultants for the entire semester. We need judges to evaluate student presentations, leaders to provide industry insight over a cup of coffee, hosts to invite students for a site tour of your business, and panel speakers to present at networking events.
