May – A message from the Executive Director

Chamber Report May 2019

Message from the Executive Director, Leanna Kemp

The Chilliwack Chamber is proud to celebrate May as ‘Health and Wellness’ month

The goal is to create awareness around overall well-being and share the amazing services and resources that are available in Chilliwack within the community, but more specifically to business leaders and organizations as  Wellness in the Workplace Initiatives.

Workplace Wellness is any workplace health promotion activity or organizational policy designed to support healthy behavior in the workplace and to improve health outcomes.

Investing in a workplace wellness program can provide broad-reaching benefits for your company, not just employees.

A Workplace Wellness Program involves a combination of health promotion, developing a wellness culture, and adapting the workplace environment to facilitate health and wellness.

The overall goal should be to have a company strategy that creates a healthy workplace and supports employees in making healthy lifestyle changes

Join us in May as the Chamber hosts a private weekly $5 fitness class at different facilities each week at a noon.

All of our members and their staff are encouraged to attend these sessions to experience the variety available among our membership. Classes are only $5 and all of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

We would like to encourage Executive Directors, General Managers and Team Leaders, to participate and also learn about the corporate wellness packages that are already available if you are considering investing in your own workplace wellness initiatives.
