If you are interested in becoming a Member on one of our standing committees, you are invited to put forward your name to the Chair of the committee for consideration and appointment by the Board of Directors. Committee members are appointed in the Spring to serve for a calendar year on a committee, which meet either monthly or quarterly over lunch, before or after work to discuss with issues and initiatives.

Planning, organizing and executing the Chilliwack Chamber signature events; Business Excellence Awards, International Women’s Day, Envision Business on The Green Golf Tournament, Chilliwack Gives Back / a #GivingTuesday Event.

Governance

Monitors the compliance of the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce Board Policy Manual. This committee will also ensure compliance of the Bylaws as registered with Industry Canada and any other regulatory framework as required by the Province of BC such as the BC Societies Act.

Membership and Communications

Welcomes new members and encourages growth of the membership while ensuring ongoing support, evaluation and adjustment of programs, services and events provided to Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce members and the community.

To create and deliver the most effective communications for the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, both internally and to the community. For Chamber of Commerce Members, this committee provides eNewsletters with upcoming events and items of interest, maintains the website, Social Media engagement, google analytics and publishes monthly Chamber Pages. The Communications Committee also focuses on external communications; it pledges to keep the Chamber of Commerce fresh in our community’s mind and to consistently improve the Chamber’s image by keeping them informed of Chamber events, milestones and contributions to the community.

Policy & Advocacy

Provides leadership in identifying and taking action on local, provincial and federal issues of specific interest to members of the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce and of concern to the business community at large.

Women’s Leadership Collective

Through unique encouragement and guidance we will spearhead several initiatives to embrace diversity and support the elevation of women in leadership roles. We will make strides to engage, empower and advocate for women in business.
